Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliating facial treatment that uses a diamond-tipped wand or a fine crystal spray with gentle vacuum suction to buff away the outermost layer of dead skin cells (stratum corneum). By polishing the skin’s surface, the procedure jump-starts cellular turnover, revealing a fresher, smoother complexion and enhancing the absorption of skincare products that follow.

What to expect in a session

2. Exfoliation pass – The esthetician glides the diamond tip (or crystal handset) across the face, neck, and/or décolleté, adjusting suction to your comfort.

3. Targeted focus – Extra polishing on areas with congestion, hyperpigmentation, or textural irregularities.

4. Post-treatment care – A soothing mask or serum is applied, followed by broad-spectrum SPF.

A single session takes about 30 minutes; most clients see best results with a series of 4–6 treatments spaced two weeks apart, then maintenance every 4–8 weeks.

Safety & aftercare

• Sun protection is a must for 48 hours; newly revealed skin is more sensitive to UV.

• Skip retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, and waxing for 3–5 days before and after.

• Not recommended for active acne pustules, rosacea flare-ups, cold sores, or fragile capillaries.

• Pregnant or nursing clients should confirm suitability with their healthcare provider.
